MADELEINE     DAYE

24-year-old British born Madeleine Daye lives part time in both Montreal and Victoria, her likes include breakfast, long walks, dancing in the kitchen, and writing songs for these occasions. Singing for an audience since age 15, Madeleine toured with bands in Memphis, Nashville and Copenhagen before she was 18. Daye’s debut EP ‘Davie Street’ was recorded live-off-the-floor, a process which was heavily influenced by experiences from her youth such as recording at Sun Studios, Royal Studios and FAME studios. The neo-soul songs depict feelings of new relationships and the debilitating infatuation that they create, the honeymoon phase, and loss of control. Coupled with her background in performing R&B and Motown, Madeleine’s latest sounds are branching into a multitude of electronic genres with producers based around the world. This endeavor has been received warmly and secured her studio work, writing tracks for companies such as Google. After a couple of years spent performing amongst the lively jam scene in Montreal, and her residency on over 65,643 spotify playlists; Daye has been successfully test-driving a fresh storyline of Neo-soul & Jazz oriented tunes on stage with her band. This is the precipice of a new chapter in her career, set to end her two-year release hiatus.
